FS Stars, Pirates clash postponed
The Absa Premiership encounter between Free State Stars and Orlando Pirates which was set to take place at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Wednesday night has been called off.
The Premier Soccer League confirmed through their official Twitter account that the clash could not go ahead due to floodlights failure at the venue.
According to a statement released by Orlando Pirates via their official Twitter account, the decision was taken following a meeting between the match commissioner, as well as PSL and club officials.
The factors which were taken into consideration were safety and security, general visibility on the field, as well as broadcast quality.
A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
The Buccaneers, who were looking to bounce back from the 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, will remain in seventh place with 23 points, while Ea Lla Koto are down in 15th place with 13 points.
