SuperSport United take on Tunisian giants
SuperSport United will make the long trip to Tunisia this weekend to take on Tunisian powerhouse Etoile Sportif du Sahel on Saturday, 22 March in the CAF Confederation Cup, kick-off 16h00.
Matsatsantsa managed to get a positive result over Kenyan outfit, AFC Leopards in the last round of the Confederations Cup, winning 4-2 on aggregate to make it to the 2nd round where they are poised for a tough assignment against one of Africa’s top teams.
The game will be played in the town of Sousse at the Stade Olympique de Sousse, an hour drive outside of the Tunisian capital city of Tunis.
Cavin Johnson knows it will be a massive task to record a win in front of the fervent fans at the Stade Olympique de Sousse, especially after their recent first round victory over CARA Brazzaville to qualify for this stage of the competition.
“"You can see how important it is for Etoile Sahel when they play at home," says Johnson.
“They have an impressive record in this competition and it’s important for us to stay composed throughout and get the job done. I feel that It's good for us to play the second leg at home, but for sure you need to get a great result to qualify, that's why we need to get a result in the first game by playing our game and come back home with something to fight for. “
Matsatsantsa will leave O.R Tambo International airport on Thursday, 20 March (13h20), and return back home on 23 March with the flight landing at 11h00.
