“ Sundowns are the favorites"

Maritzburg United had a dream start to the season but after the 7-0 loss to SuperSport the team of choice haven’t been the same team.

However team manager Quentin Jettoo believes that the team has forgotten about that game against SuperSport United and in the last league and cup games a lack of concentration has led them down.

“We have long forgotten about the SuperSport game, the team isn't doing anything wrong, in fact in our last games we conceded goals in the last minutes of the game.  This was due to lack of concentration and against Chiefs we played much better,” he says.

Now Maritzburg United is traveling to Mamelodi Sundowns for the next league fixture on Sunday at Loftus Versveld Stadium. Last time these teams meant in the league the Maritzburg based side won the game 3-1.

But Maritzburg United team manager Quentin Jettoo is playing down any choice of the same score line.

“ Sundowns are the favorites going into this game, they have a very strong team but we are also looking in good shape as well and the coach has a plan.”

“We are not going to sit downs and let them come on us, we going to put up a fight and try to get good results out of the game,” he adds.

Quentin Jettoo also believes that the side stands a good chance to finish in the good position before the Christmas break

“To be realistic I think we are on track to finish well and I think that we can finish amongst the top teams in the league.”

 The team will be without they main striker Diyo Sibisi who is suspended for the match and the team will welcome back Jabulani Ncubeni after return from the Under 20 National Team.
