Phungwayo: It was a hard loss to take
Orlando Pirates defender Patrick Phungwayo maintained Buccaneers
will bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Mpumalanga Black Aces last night.
The Bucs' full-back self-confessed the team did not play
their best football in the first half of the match against Amazayoni, but
insisted that “we have to forget about it and move on.”
He told Pirates official website: “In the first half we
didn't play so well, but we tried to pull our socks in the second half. At the
end of the day the penalty won them the game; we tried our best as a team.
“It was a hard loss to take; we have a match coming up and I
am confident that things will change. It was always going to be tough to go to
Aces and get a good result, but we tried as a team, unfortunately we didn't
win. We will go back to training and start again.”
The team will resume training on Wednesday, ahead of their
Telkom Knock-out Cup meeting with Ajax Cape Town at Orlando Stadium.
This match is scheduled for 20.15 on Saturday.
