Harrison joins Arrows
Abafana Bes’thende have appointed Mark Harrison as their new Head Coach effective immediately.
Harrison has a history of football in his life, beginning his career in the game in 1977 for Southampton in England as a trainee. After 3 years he moved onto Port Vale where he immediately became the first choice keeper for the ‘Valiants’.
He had a brief loan period for Stoke City and thereafter returned to Vale Park where he enjoyed a 46 game stint for the team before being sold to Stoke city where he stayed for a brief period and then moved onto South Africa and started playing for Hellenic. Mark then returned to the UK where he ended his career playing for Kettering Town, Stafford Rangers and Telford United.
On his retirement, Harrison returned to South Africa where he began his role in football management.
Presently, Mark is one of the most qualified and experienced coaches in South Africa. He is a qualified UEFA A licensed coach and began his coaching career in the UK at Bristol City before moving to Everton, Stafford Rangers and Oxford United.
He was also the Bangladesh National Head Coach in the early 2000’s before returning to South Africa to coach at FC Fortune.
After a spell coaching in the Maldives, Mark returned to South Africa to coach MP Black Aces, African Warriors and Chippa United.
