Killer: One does need a bit of luck
Katlego Mphela has attributed Mamelodi Sundowns’ recent goal drought mainly to lack of composure in the box and absence of a bit of luck. The man the fans call Killer because of his predatory instinct in front of goal is however confident that he and his team-mates will start rattling the back of the net once again.
“It all boils down to composure in the box and a bit of luck sometimes. Against Swallows and Supersport we missed a number of goal scoring opportunities, which we know we would have easily scored on any other day”
“One does need a bit of luck and once the team starts scoring, players will gain confidence to score more goals and things will start becoming easier from there on”
Killer also pointed out that all players need to work harder on their techniques and be patient because getting it right doesn’t happen over night.
“It doesn’t happen over night, sometimes it can take you more than five matches and we need to work harder on creating more goal scoring opportunities – and taking them. The coach is really working hard on the players’ finishing and I think we are getting there”
