PSL wishes Mandela happy birthday
Today one of the world’s renowned statesman and a global
icon, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela celebrates his 94h birthday.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has joined millions
across the globe in wishing Madiba, as he is affectionately known by his clan
name, a happy 94th birthday.
PSL Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza said: “On behalf of
the PSL family, I would to send my birthday wishes to Madiba; a man who
selflessly put the needs of his people ahead of his own. As South Africans, the
African continent and the world, we remain indebted to Madiba for what he has
done.
“We know that he has special passion for sport and
football. It was his tireless efforts, even at a time when he was ageing, that
swayed the vote in our favour and won us the rights to -host the 2010 FIFA
World Cup. We wish Madiba many more years,” Khoza said.
