Swallows flying to Shanghai
The team’s performance this season has not gone unnoticed by
the international football community. The Shanghai Football Association has
extended an invitation to Moroka Swallows to take 0part in the 2012 Shanghai
International Football Tournament that will start on the 1st of June
2012.
The team is scheduled to depart from South Africa for China
on the 28th of June to take part in a 4 team tournament.
The
Shanghain teams are: Shanghai Shenhua Football Club (CFA Super League) and
Shanghai Shenix Football Club also CFA Super League. The France team is France
Evian Football Club.
Gordon Igesund said: “The players are excited that they will
be travelling to China, some for the first time, after a very successful
season. This trip will work as a good incentive for the players because they
really deserve to be spoiled after they put up a championship performance
throughout the season”.
The tournament will take place at Hongkou Football Stadium
on the 1st of June. Moroka Swallows is scheduled to play against
Shanghai Shenxin F.C on the 1st of June and Shanghai Shenhua on the
3rd of June. There are 2 competitions for each team and the winners
will get 3 points, and the draw teams will get 1 point, as well as each goal
will plus 1 point. The ranking will depends on total points of each team.
The team is looking forward to experience the Chinese
culture off and on the field.
