Sundowns move six clear
Mamelodi Sundowns moved six points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership after a 1-0 win away to Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday evening.
Teko Modise struck a superb goal in the seventh minute that proved to be the difference between the teams.
The win is the Brazilians’ ninth in a row and opens up clear daylight between them and second-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who however have two games in hand.
As for the Birds, it is a fourth successive defeat and a 10th loss from 14 league matches since the turn of the year. They remain in 13th, six points clear of the relegation zone.
Sundowns will next be in league action when they host Tshwane rivals SuperSport United in a week’s time, while Swallows are away to Polokwane City the following day.
