At the recent draw of the last 18 teams involved in the 2013 Ezemvelo Cup AmaZulu announced that they will be holding coaching clinics on 17/18 August 2013 in preparation for the teams involved in the knockout stages.
“We’re very honoured and pleased to be involved in the tournament, and in the fight against rhino poaching.”
“We would like to also wish good luck to all the participants this year,” said AmaZulu General Manager, Peter O’Connor.
The competition is the brainchild of Dr Bandile Mkhize (CEO of EKZN Wildlife) and is now in its 5th year of existence. It has changed the lives of many young people while educating local communities of the plight of the rhino.
This year the tournament comprises both sporting codes netball and football and brings together rural communities.
It also welcomes legendary football personality and Jomo Cosmos coach, Jomo Sono, as one of its ambassadors. Sono pledged R10 000 to the tournament and playing kit for the winners.
