Celtic partner up with HTS Louis Botha High
Bloemfontein Celtic would like to
announce their partnership with HTS Louis Botha High that will see the Free
State’s school producing players for the club in the future.
Celtic Technical Director, Mich
D’Avray, expressed his delight with the mutually beneficial partnership.
“We felt that for quite a few years
Louis Botha High has been, as far as school soccer goes, the benchmark. The
school seem to focus and concentrate a lot on soccer. I think quite a few players
have come out of this institution,” D’Avray said.
“We formed a partnership with them
whereby we will be the custodians of football in the school. Obviously, it is
the partnership that will benefit both ways. It will enable us to bring in
players from the school into our U-19 development side. We will also give
bursaries to some of their pupils if possible,” he added.
As part of the marriage between the
two parties, Celtic donated training kit to the school today.
Johannes Cronje, head of sports at
Louis Botha, said: “We feel that it is a very good thing to have a partnership
with a renowned brand like Bloemfontein Celtic. This represents an excellent opportunity
for our learners who want to play football professionally for Celtic. It is a mutually beneficial partnership that we hope will
last forever.”
