AmaZulu new strikers speak out.
AmaZulu's new recruits may have had little time to adapt to Durban’s coastal scene, but three of the new signings reveal to AmaZulufc.net how the warm welcome from teammates is helping them settle.
Along with five of the other new signings acquired on or before the PSL transfer deadline day, the experienced trio of Makhosonke Bhengu, Joseph Malongoane and Bongani Ndulula are not worried that they have less than a week before possibly making their Usuth debuts.
“Coming to a new environment for me always brings new expectations but I feel appreciated from the way the guys have welcomed me. Now for me what’s important is to play football for the good of the team,” said Malongoane.
The Limpopo born new arrival from Platinum Stars and Ndulula, are finding life easier at the clubhouse with their new teammates and are already bracing themselves for a tough first league match next week.
“It may take some time to get used to things, but at training I’m coming alright. Everybody is fighting, you can tell that they want to give their all in the upcoming game,” said Ndulula.
Local man and former Sun Hei (Hong Kong) striker, Makhosonke Bhengu, doesn’t have to worry much about any culture shock having played in his early years in the dusty streets of Umlazi.
The former Bucs and Bloemfontein Celtic man said of his expectations at Usuthu:
“AmaZulu is one of the big teams that have been around for a long time in South Africa. I’m looking forward to working with the guys in the team. What’s important now is that we all work towards getting the team out of the bottom together as teammates and not worry about individualism,” said Bhengu.
AmaZulu will take on Maritzburg United on Tuesday 12 February at 7:30pm at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
