Bafana moves one place in FIFA rankings

South African senior national team, Bafana Bafana, have moved up one place in the latest Fifa World Rankings.

Despite not being in action since November 2017, Bafana still managed to gain a few points to move from position 77 to 76 and ahead of Zambia in the world.

They last played competitive football against Senegal in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, where they lost 2-0 in Dakar and subsequently failed to qualify for the finals in Russia.

While this is not a significant rise in the Fifa world rankings, Stuart Baxter's men will be eager to improve further by doing well in the upcoming four-nation tournament which will take place in Ndola, Zambia next weekend.

Bafana will take on Angola in their opening match of the tournament, before playing either Zambia or Zimbabwe in their second match on March 25.

Meanwhile, Baxter's charges moved up two places on the continent, and they're now ranked 15th.
