Wins for Downs and Pirates in the Absa Prem opener.


 The Absa Premiership started out with same exciting results. 

Defending champions started the league with a defeat to Cape Town City while Mamelodi Sundowns easy past SuperSport United.

Mamelodi Sundowns got their 2017/18 Absa Premiership campaign off to a winning start as they defeated Tshwane rivals SuperSport United 2-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Orlando Pirates 1- 0 Chippa United

Orlando Pirates defeated Chippa United 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Polokwane City 0-0 Baroka FC

The opening 2017/18 Absa Premiership Limpopo derby between Polokwane City and Baroka FC ended in a 0-0 draw at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Ajax Cape Town 1-1Golden Arrows

Ajax Cape Town were unable to maximise their home ground advantage as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows at the Cape Town Stadium.

AmaZulu 1-0 Free State Stars

AmaZulu edged Free State Stars 1-0 on their return to the Premiership following a two-year absence.

Platinum Stars 0-2 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United continued with they fine start to the season as they clinched a 2-0 victory over Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday.

Bloemfontein Celtic 1-1 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs start the new campaign with a draw after their first-half lead in a 1-1 Absa Premiership draw with Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium on Sunday. 

Bidvest Wits 0-1 Cape Town City

Cape Town City managed a 1-0 win over defending champions Bidvest Wits in their Absa Premiership opener at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday night.
