Larsen ready for Stars

Bloemfontein Celtic will be looking to end the seven years drought of not winning any silverware when the face Free State Stars in the in the Telkom Knockout semi-final at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Sunday.

Clinton Larsen has admitted that the mood in the camp in great after the team have produced great come back against defending champions Pirates in the quarterfinals.

However Larsen know that its going to be very difficult playing Free State Stars at home.

“We have done so well in our last games and the mood in the camp is good. We know that it’s going to be a difficult game, it’s never easy to play Stars home or away,” he says.

Celtic haven’t played a final since 2005 when they won the top eight and Larsen says that there are just 90 or 120 minutes away from making the final.

“We are 90 or 120 minutes away to make in the final and that’s all we are concentrating on at the moment. Everybody is focussing on making sure that we do whatever it takes to get an victory on Sunday.”

The victory over Orlando Pirates in the last round is motivating the players according the Larsen.

Celtic beat Pirates twice in one month and Larsen believes that shows that the club now is ready to challenge for cups.

“I think the beating Pirates was a big game for us, the fact hat we beat them twice in one month that gave the players more belief we can beat anybody in the country.

Pirates are double trouble champions and we beat them, that’s says a lot about the club. I think we have assembled a great squad that can challenge for cups.”

Bloemfontein Celtic will have a full squid to choose from but head coach Clinton Larsen wont be at the bench due to suspension and assistant coach Boebie Solomons will be on the bench instead.
