Paris St-Germain’s interest in AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato

Carlo Ancelotti will step up Paris St-Germain’s interest in AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato after he was installed as the French club’s manager on Friday.

And the £40million-plus which Milan hope to receive for the Brazilian should pave the way for Carlos Tevez’s expected move from Manchester City to the San Siro later this month.

City are determined to sell Tevez for £25m rather than loan him out for the rest of the season and People Sport, who revealed Ancelotti would be the new PSG gaffer, understands negotiations are progressing well between the two clubs.

Juventus retain an interest, but their Serie A rivals head the queue and the money they are set to receive from PSG will free up the funds for the Argentinian.

Ancelotti, who was sacked by Chelsea at the end of last season, has been handed vast sums to spend this month by PSG’s wealthy Qatari owners.

As well as bringing in Pato, PSG are still hoping to bring in David Beckham from LA Galaxy.
The Italian is also keen to raid his old club for winger Florent Malouda and will make a move for central defender Alex, who had a transfer request accepted at Stamford Bridge last month.
