Ajax appoint Westerverd as goalkeeper coach.

Ajax Cape Town has made a few changes in their backroom staffing ahead of the new season. 

The new appointment’s is headed by the return of Ian Taylor to Ikamva. Ian is a familiar face at Ikamva having coached the AjaxCT U17, U19 and Reserve team’s during his time at the club. 

He left Ikamva in January 2013 to take up the Head Coach position at Cape Town All Stars. He joins the PSL technical team as an assistant-coach. Ian and David Nyathi will work as assistant-coaches to Ajax Cape Town’s Ajax Cape Town’s Head Coach, Muhsin Ertugral. 

Another new appointment in the backroom of Ikamva is that of Sander Westerveld as goalkeeper coach. Westeveld made 42 appearances in goal for the Urban Warriors since signing for the club in 2011. 

A new appointment has also been made in the Ajax Cape Town medical department. Jacques du Toit has been appointed as the club’s Bio kineticist. 

Jacques worked as a Performance Enhancement Specialist focusing on football, rugby and Final Phase Rehabilitation at the Sports Science Institute. He has a BA (Hons) in Bio kinetics and is currently completing a “Masters in Exercise Science”.
