Ajax says goodbye to Evans
Ajax Cape Town held they end of the years
awards last night, where George Maluleka was named the player of the years. The
top goal scorer award went to Khama Billiat for scoring eight goals in the
league this season while the Rookie of the year went to young defender Thato
Mokeke. Number two goalkeepers Sean Roberd received the Sportsman of the year
award.
A special award was handed to over Brett
Evans, who was leaving Ajax Cape Town after spending 13 years with the club. Ajax
CEO George Comitis presented him with a to the thank you award for his
exemplary conduct and his professionalism as an Ajax Cape Town player for the
last 13 years. Evans was the only surviving 1999 squad player still at the club
and his tenure came to an end today.
Comitis said, “Ajax Cape Town wishes Brett
Evans well in his future endeavours, we thank him for his loyal service and
commitment.”
