Mekoa- We will fight till the end

Platinum Stars midfielder Manti Mekoa wants Dikwena to fight like their lives depend on it in the last match of the season.

Dikwena, who are at the bottom of the Absa Premiership with 21 points, host Bidvest Wits at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace this coming Saturday afternoon.

“It’s the last kick of a dying horse and we need that killer instinct. When we create chances, we must take them. We have to go all out. We have no choice.

But  obviously we mustn’t lose our heads so we need to be smart about it as well. Everyone knows it’s a must win. Irrespective of other results, we have to take care of what’s in our hands,” said Mekoa, who joined Dikwena in January.

“Hope, belief and faith will see us through. I have to have faith in our strikers and whoever gets a chance to put the goals away. I have to have faith in our defenders that we don’t concede goals.”

It has been a bumpy ride for Dikwena who have had trouble finding the back of the net.  Mekoa is hoping this won’t be the case against Wits.

“It’s a major concern that we fight and keep creating chances but we don’t convert. We have to be resilient in our game and score goals,” said Mekoa.

Somewhere at the back of his mind, Mekoa has belief that the miraculous could happen.

“If you get a second chance you have to grab it with both hands. As long as there’s a small chance, I still have faith that we will make it,” said Mekoa.
Kickoff is at 3pm.
