Clinton Larsen new Maritzburg United coach

New Maritzburg United coach Clinton Larsen is excited about the new challenge in his career, though he is under no illusions as to the enormity of the task.
The former Manning Rangers midfielder was official unveiled by the club the afternoon and replace Ernst Middendorp who, ironically, resigned on Friday to fill the post vacated by Larsen at Bloemfontein Celtic.
“I want to thank Maritzburg United for appointing me as head coach,” he told the club’s official website.
“I will strive to fulfil all the goals of the club. There is a lot of hard work, but we are going to work towards our goals together and are confident that we will achieve success.”
Maritzburg are currently down in ninth place after an indifferent start to the 2013/14 season, but chairman Farook Kadodia believes the new appointment will help them move in the right direction.
“Maritzburg United is excited to unveil a young progressive coach to continue our progress in the Premier Soccer League,” he said.
“Clinton is renowned for his superb man-management skills and his dynamic approach to the game and his influence in implementing a more attacking style of football.
“We are confident he will provide a strong leadership in the development of the football club, as well as complement and elevate the work that our technical department and Development structures are already doing.”
