McCarthy praises Makola
Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy has once again praise
new signing Mpho Makola.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder joined Cape Town City
at the beginning of the season and has fitted like a clave in the middle of the
park for City in the last two games.
McCarthy says that he always had an eye for Makola since last
season after noticing the Free State born wasn’t getting regular game time at
Pirates.
“Last season wanted him already, I saw that he wasn’t playing
as many games as he was at Pirates and if the opportunity raises I’ll jump at
the opportunity,” said McCarthy.
The Citizen Coach added: “So we know the caliber of this guy
when he is in the mood to play and it’s a shame what happened but someone else
is loss is our gain.
Pirates let him go and we took the liability taking him and
you see how calm he is and doesn’t panic and that makes us play.”
Cape Town City will take a break from the Absa Premiership
and focus on defending their MTN 8 title next weekend when they face Polokwane
City.
